Towards a space-time model to describe the innovation process in Chile: Maule and O’Higgins regions

Resumen

In this paper we characterize the evolution of the innovative effort carried out by the industry located at the Maule and O’higgins regions during the last decade. In order to do this, we analyzed the data provided by the Innovation Survey conducted by the National Institute of Statistics between 2005 and 2015 (versions IV to IX).

On a preliminary stage, we propose the comparison of at least two generalized linear models to determine the variables that affect the industry innovation capabilities. Similarly, we use exploratory spatial data analysis to determine possible spatial patterns across time.
